Possible Virus
Do apple computers require an anti virus to be installed ,I was told it did not and recently I keep getting messages I have a virus. My iMac is 6 years old and I have never had this problem before .

No, they don't need any antivirus app and any popup you see claiming you have a virus is a scam.
