Recover unsaved photos from iMessage!

I just purchased the new iPhone 11 pro max. I backed up everything before i transferred everything from my iPhone X. I just noticed that everything came through except for photos and documents that where stored within my iMessages. All the convos are there but none of the pictures or documents that where within the iMessages are. How can I get them back?
