My iPhone 5 suddenly quit allowing me to log in.

My iPhone 5 suddenly quit allowing me to log in. It'll bring up the entry screen as normal but as soon as I touch the first button for log in the screen goes dark with a little circle in the middle going around. I tried a shut down with the same result. I called phone from another number and it rings but won't allow me to answer the call. Any ideas out there?

Hello RCFlyer53,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It appears the iPhone has stopped responding to touch so you can log into it. I'll be happy to help.

This might be an issue with the touch screen itself. These steps here can help: Get help with the display on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you still have issues, it might be related to hardware. Here are the service options for the iPhone: iPhone Repair - Official Apple Support

Thanks and have a great day.
