App Store Allows Download of Possible Spam

How is it possible for the App Store to download an unrequested App? Like predatory credit Apps such as “The Iconic”?

What happened - I had forgotten my password so reset to download a wanted App. But as soon as the password reset was accepted the App Store downloaded “The Iconic” App.

This was the first time I had seen the App - after it was downloaded to my iPad.

I had NOT searched for any App like this one.

I would never want any App like this one.

It is a credit App offering predatory lending to unwary buyers.

So how is it possible for Apple to allow unrequested/unauthorised downloads to occur? Even worse, why does Apple allow these predatory Apps unwanted access to Apple customers?

i have deleted the App from my iPad but now want the App deleted and forever blocked from my download history. How can I get this done?

Not happy at all.

If you, or someone else, is logged into the account on a different device and you had automatic downloads for apps enabled on your iPad, the app will download.

You can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can/will remove it from the account's purchase history, but that obviously won't stop it being downloaded again by you or someone else : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww (click on your country's flag, the country where you live, and which is therefore the country on the account ; click on Contact Support towards the top right ; click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us’)

Thanks for the advice King_Penguin. Nobody else is logged onto my account, but I wasn’t aware I still had automatic download turned on as I normally wouldn’t allow. Now turned off.

While I did find your answer helpful, I would not have been aware that any App could download automatically anyway. I would have thought that no App could do this unless requested?

Because if any App can do this without the a User authorising wouldn’t this be a major security issue?
