Path for desktop photos showing up on desktop

When I rebooted my iMac (late 2013) running 10.14.5 today the path to the desktop photo is showing up in the middle of the screen. (3)/Users/linda/Pictures/Lucy.PNG.

I tried changing the photo to a stock photo but that shows the same with the .heic at the end.

thank you for your help!

That's odd, as the only way I know to display a desktop photo´s path on the screen is by using a Terminal command! Has maybe someone done this on your iMac? Anyway, here is an article giving you the Terminal command to display the path AND, more relevantly for you, the command to get rid of the path!

I do hope this helps you! Regards, Ian.

Thank you, I'm glad it worked! Re your "other issues"...you could download the Mojave 10.14.5 Combo Update and install it over your present system. A combo update can clear up system glitches when system files gets corrupted or even lost. I've found combo updates to be very useful on occasion! You can get it here:

Good luck, Ian.

Virtual hugs!!!!

No - Terminal has not been accessed except by me yesterday to solve another issue and this showed up a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't find a way to get rid of it.

Thank you so much!!!! My iMac is giving me issues in other areas and really need to do a hard reset - just procrastinating.

Have a blessed day.
