Wifi connection constantly dropped on 2019 Macbook Pro

I purchased the newest 2019 13" Macbook Pro four days ago and since then the connection reliability to my wifi network has been abysmal. It lasts for about two minutes and then resets itself. Sometimes it reconnects automatically, but mostly it's up to me to manually connect to the network again and again and again. The wifi network itself is fine. I have an iPhone 8 and a 2017 Macbook Air running Mojave, and they do not encounter this problem at all, so this is clearly an issue specific to the Macbook Pro.

I've already tried resetting NVRAM and SMC to no effect.

I talked to Apple Support. The solutions was to go to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration in Finder and delete preferences.plist and NetworkInterfaces.plist. I'm not sure what these file do, but deleting them fixed the issue.

Filenames suggest to me that they contain the network settings for your MacBook. There were probably some errors in there which probably crept in when you originally setup your new Mac.

By trashing them, MacOS created them again from scratch. Seems this time it worked as it should.
